  • Ground Cover: Thickly covered with at least 15cm of undecomposed, shredded litter, mostly spiral palm leafs
  • Soil Surface: Humic soil, not compacted, moist
  • Last Rainfall: Rainfall on Kachana 2004/2005
  • Fire: Active fire exclusion 1996 and 2005
  • Biological: Medium density stocking for 5 days 4 months prior to sampling

Profile description:
  • 0-2cm: Partly decomposed litter, high insect activity
  • 2-25cm: Thick humus layer, moist, lots of roots; color: black
  • 25-35cm: Moist sand with clay and humic compounds, ; color: grey to brown
  • 35-60cm: Wet sand; color: light brown
